An object receives the letter M followed by three digits, in the order it entered the catalogue. Numbers are never reused. A set carries its own number and lists the numbers it contains, so a Glow Duo is M-103 and is always made of M-101 and M-102.
M-104, M-105 and M-111 were assigned to objects that have not been released. They stay assigned. The objects that entered after them took the next numbers rather than filling the gaps, because a number that has been given out is not given out again — not even to a thing that never shipped.
