Shipping and delivery
How much is shipping?
Free, on every order, to every US state. There is no minimum.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not yet. United States only, including Alaska and Hawaii.
How long does it take?
Six to ten days: 1 to 3 days to pack, then 5 to 8 days in transit. Calendar days, counted from the day you pay.
What if it passes ten days?
Then you hear from us before the tenth day, not after it, with the real date — and if that date doesn’t work, the order is cancelled and refunded in full.
Where is my tracking number?

The Octopus Lamp
How is it powered?
It plugs in with the cable included in the box. There is no battery to replace.
Does it really change color?
Yes. A button turns it on and cycles it through colors, so the same lamp can be warm amber one night and deep blue the next. It also comes with a remote for switching colors.
Is it bright enough to light a room?
No. It is an accent light for a bedside table, a shelf, or a windowsill.
Can I leave it on one color?
Yes. Stop pressing when you reach the one you want.
The Prism Cube
Does it work without sunlight?
It needs direct light to throw rainbows. A sunbeam is best, but a desk lamp or a phone flashlight works too. In shade it reads as a heavy, clean glass object.
Is it fragile?
It is solid optical glass and heavier than it looks. It will not shatter easily, but it will chip if you drop it on tile. Keep it away from the edge of a shelf.

What is the Thinker Figure?
A small abstract resin sculpture with a sandstone finish. It ships free with every order.
Do I have to add it to my cart?
No. It goes in the box automatically. You will find it when you open the package.
Can I buy one on its own?
No. It exists only as the gift with purchase.
The Glow Duo
What is it?
Both objects together for $114.99 instead of $124.98 bought separately.
Why pair them?
They work at opposite times of day. The cube does nothing after dark; the lamp is what you notice then. In the afternoon it flips.
Will mine look exactly like the photo?
The lamp is hand-finished, so there are small variations between pieces. That is normal and not a defect.
How objects get in
Who chooses what Mauna sells?
Nothing is listed because it is available. Every object has to pass seven written conditions before it gets a catalogue number — they are published on The standard, along with the objects that were rejected and why.
What is the M number on the product page?
Its catalogue number. Every object Mauna has ever released has one, it is never reused, and the full list is on The record.
And the second number, after the slash?
The unit number — which copy of that object yours is. It is emailed to you the day your box leaves; nothing is printed inside the parcel. How it is assigned is on The register.
Returns and problems
What if it arrives damaged?
Send a photo within 30 days. Refund or replacement, your choice, and you keep the original. Nothing is shipped back.
What if I just do not like it?
Tell us within 30 days and we issue store credit for the full amount plus a 10 percent bonus, with nothing to send back. If you would rather have the money, say so and we refund you.
What do I need to open a claim?
Your unit number, or your order number if that is what you have to hand. Either one works.
How do I reach a person?
